The Mall Is Coming Down. The Weekend Is Showing Up.

Big changes downtown, strong community moments, and a weekend full of markets, music, art, and comedy.

Why This Matters

FROM THE Publisher,

Hey friends, this week feels like classic Redlands. Unfortunately, I will be in town this weekend. We headed back East to Boston and Connecticut to visit with our daughter for her 19th birthday.

However, this weekend is big weekend of comedy.

If you in town this weekend. You can feel the city shifting a little. One longtime landmark is coming down that been around since I was kid.

Students are showing up in a big way. Local artists are filling the walls. And the weekend? It’s stacked with enough markets, music, and comedy to make staying home a bad strategy.

So here’s your short, useful, no-fluff guide to what matters and what’s worth doing.

🌳 AROUND THE GROVES

☀️ The View from the Foothills

This weekend looks like classic Redlands spring — warm afternoons, cool evenings, and the kind of weather that makes staying inside feel like a mistake, with slight possibility of showers.  Think mid-70s by day, low-50s at night, and just enough sunshine to justify an extra coffee stop downtown before you decide where the day is going to take you. 🥬 Market Watch

The market lineup is strong again this weekend: the Grove School Farmers Market goes Saturday morning, the Downtown Farmer’s Market sets up on State and Fifth, and Sunday Morning Market returns to Olive Ave Market at 9 a.m. If you like your weekends with produce, pastries, and a reason to wander a little slower, Redlands is giving you options. 🎉 Weekend Buzz

Saturday’s got real family energy this week. Library Days takes over Smiley Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with games, music, crafts, a Quiet Zone, and free In-N-Out and Lappert’s while supplies last. Then Friday night brings Good Trouble Bike Night at 6 p.m., while Three Stags keeps live music going through the weekend. Source | Source | Source

🏀 Friday Night Energy

If you want something louder than dinner, the Harlem Wizards are back at REV Friday night. Doors open at 6 p.m., the game starts at 7, and it’s the kind of crowd-friendly, trick-shot, laugh-a-lot event that works whether you bring kids, friends, or just your own inner 12-year-old. Source

❤️ Community Heartbeat

A couple good community reminders for the weekend: Redlands is hosting a Prescription Drug Take Back event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gonzales Center, and on Sunday the AAUW FilmFest Matinee brings short films by women filmmakers to Crafton Hills College at 2 p.m. One helps clean out the medicine cabinet. The other gives you a solid reason to sit in the dark and watch something smart. Source | Source

See something worth sharing? A packed patio, a new menu board, a school event, a good local rumor that turns out to be true? Hit reply — I’m always looking for the kind of small stories that make Redlands feel like home.

GRATITUDE & COMMUNITY

Redlands is always better when you actually go be part of it. Unfortunately, this weekend I won't be in town and get to enjoy the East Coast, which is becoming a favorite of mine.

So if something in here caught your eye, don’t overthink it.

Go to the market. Show up for the art. Grab a drink with live music. Laugh a little, Liz and I really enjoyed the the "Don't Tell Comedy" the last time it came into town

Go enjoy yourself and have good time.

Until Next week,

Carlos
